This is absolutely fantastic. One of the biggest trips back to childhood I've ever had! You're a magnificent coder. The only thing is . . . with your skill level, don't stick to the dreary, dark Metroid theme, make something colorful and flashy with fun music that everyone can enjoy. It'll get a much better reception. Because, honestly, this should be #.1 in the Portal.
This isn't a sequel, it's just . . . more of the same. It's like the same movie twice. Next time I'm hoping for detailed backgrounds and different types of death because I didn't see anything new in this one at all!
The animation is very fluid, but the actions don't look realistic in the least bit, even for stick figures. I could take the physics of the bodies into consideration as you touch up the final product. Also consider adding some type of shading to the head so that when it turns, it looks like it's actually turning and that you just didn't motion tween the pair of eyes to move off sideways.
I wanted realistic physics, not realistic actions. There is a difference. Although some moves may look cartoonish, they are intended too...this is a kind of cartoon, belive it or not. Movies like "i love egg" are an inspiration in this department, but I want a crossing between this and real physics.
As for the head-rotating-eyes thing, I think its fine the way it is, but I can take a look and see if I like it. You shouldn't really count on seeing it, but I appriciate the idea.
I find the "moving" art work to be more of an annoyance than a novelty, especially when more detailed static artwork would have been 10 times better. Sacrificing detail to have bland "motion" artwork just wasn't a good decision . . . plus, it dragged horribly, I could barely pass some screens, even in low quality mode and my processor speed is nothing to laugh at.
Excellent coding, however, I was very stunned by the coding!

Oh my
FUNNY! But, using pre-set Flash sound effects is gross.
